One of the most effective ways to limit the access to your website is to block the IP addresses of the individuals which should not be able to open it. There are many reasons why you should do that. As an example, you may want a specific individual not to be able to see your Internet site, or you could restrict the access for a whole nation. You can even block IP addresses in case you detect that there are way too many browser requests from them, if a huge number of spam comments are left on your Internet sites or if a script login page has been loaded a large number of times. In any of these scenarios, the traffic is more than likely fake and has been generated by an automatic bot, so you can safely block any suspicious IP address, to be on the safe side. Through a rather simple interface, you'll be able to restrict any IP from accessing your content even if you have not had a web hosting account before. All it requires to complete this is to log inside to your Control Panel, to go to the IP Blocking section, to select a certain domain or subdomain from a drop-down menu and then to type in the IP address. You simply won't need to do anything challenging if you'd like to block an entire network - you'll simply have to omit the last octet, so entering 1.1.1. with a blank space after the last dot will block the full range from 1.1.1.1 to 1.1.1.255. All blocked IPs shall be listed in the same exact section, so you shall be able to remove any of them from the blacklist with only a click.

IP Blocking in Semi-dedicated Hosting

If you host your sites within a semi-dedicated server account with our company and you would like to block one or a few IP addresses sooner or later, you could use the easy-to-use blocking tool, which we've included in our in-house built Hepsia hosting CP. With a couple of clicks, you will be able to block certain IPs or entire ranges, if necessary. All you'll have to do is choose any of your domains or subdomains from a drop-down menu, decide if the blocking needs to be valid for the root folder or for a subfolder which is part of the Internet site, and then type the IP address that you'd like to block. For an IP range, you simply need to omit the last octet or the last two octets of the address depending on the size of the network which you want to block. All the addresses which you have restricted shall be listed inside the very same section and if you want to whitelist any one of them, you will be able to do it with just a click at any time.
